Reducing Energy Use in City Water Movement
Drinking water and wastewater treatment plants are often the highest energy users in local government operations. Attend this webinar to learn about the City of Michigan City's measures to reduce energy use in its wastewater treatment facility and the U.S. Department of of Energy's (invited) Sustainable Wastewater Infrastructure of the Future Initiative (SWIFt). Through SWIFt, the Department of Energy trains wastewater facility managers how to manage their energy data, implement low- and no-cost energy-saving measures, and identify a long-term strategy for capital-intensive projects. Facilities managers that have completed the no-cost program have reduced energy use an average of 8% with no- and low-cost measures.
