"Implementing and evaluating interventions to prevent and treat HIV among street-connected youth: preliminary results from the Peer Navigator Project"
The Peer Navigator Project is a multi-site study evaluating the scale and adaptation of a peer navigator intervention originally piloted in Eldoret, Kenya to 2 additional sites in Kenya and 3 new sites in Canada. This session will present preliminary findings from the project, including a discussion on the successes and limitations of the peer navigator model in addressing the high burden of HIV among street-connected youth.

Dorothy is a current PhD student at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto. Her current research with AMPATH focuses on peer support interventions and cash transfers to improve HIV prevention and treatment among street-connected youth. She is also involved in research investigating housing precarity and HIV-related vulnerability among marginalized populations in Canada, Peru, and the United States.
