Supporting Positive Change: Motivational Interviewing in Schools
Presented by Mallori DeSalle, MA, LMHC, NCC, CMHC, MATS, CPS

Motivational Interviewing is an approach for managing conversations about behavior change. Change isn’t easy for anyone, and it’s particularly challenging for educators to manage a group of young people that are all struggling with change while also trying to learn, grow and manage other developmental expectations.

School health professionals (teachers, counselors, nurses, integrated-clinic staff) all regularly are looking for ways to improve the success of students who struggle to make positive changes; motivational interviewing can help! In this webinar we will discuss what motivational interviewing is and is not, when it can be useful with individuals and in groups and experience a few scenarios where MI can be applied.
